Many things happen daily and we do a lot of stuffs every other second like seeing, hearing sound, feeling the touch etc. But there is a question as how these happen. Is it the body that does all this or something else. Though the question is trivial but pretty straight forward too if we visualise our-self as a chariot as detailed in Vedic scriptures. It is not the body who does these rather it is the one living inside the body who does everything, who sees, feels the touch, hear the sound etc. But who is he ? How he does all this ? The answer lies in the concept explained in great detail in Vedic scriptures.
Soul being the passenger doesn't have the capability to perform acts with the materialistic world, rather all actions are performed by the body through the Mind being the controller. Soul connects to the Mind, Mind connects with the body ( physical brain is a part of the Body ) and body connects with the outer materialistic world.
If the Mind is not with the body, then no action can take place. If the Mind is not with the eyes, we will not be able to see even though our eyes open. If the Mind is not with the ears then we will not be able to hear.
Mind is not like the Body, Mind has no capability to experience the matter itself and can not perform any action by itself. It needs a body to perform to and with this physical world. We can visualise the Body as a simple mechanical tool with five sense organs for performing Input / Output operations. It is the Mind that compute and analyse the inputs of the sense organs and perform the logical analysis and generates outputs evident to the materialistic world.
With the biological death, though body has all the organs but are of no use due to absence of the Mind resulted with the absence of the soul.
Mind being the controller also act as a storage box of all the impressions. All effects of one’s actions, all the knowledge one has acquired, all the experiences one has gained in the life and in previous lives, stay in the mind.
So, it has everything, one has ever experienced. The stronger impressions appear on the surface, the weaker ones stay buried deep down. However there are several techniques , when practised correctly can bring up the deep buried impressions on the surface and could empower oneself with older impressions even from the previous lives.
Meditation can help significantly and also the kind of food we have.
