Commerce stream is known for a huge scope in India. Students who belong to commerce background are already in an advantaged situation, as they are eligible to pursue commerce as well as humanities courses. However, commerce students could not pursue science courses. But science students can apply for commerce courses anyway. The basic requirement for commerce and humanities courses is having subjects such as math and English in class XII.
Here is the list of commerce courses that students can pursue after Class XII:
B.Com: It is not always possible for a student to score good marks in class XII boards due to several reasons. Therefore, they can pursue B.Com and other professional courses such as CA, CS, or ICWA. Eligibility criteria for opting these courses are passing class XII.
BA Hons (English): It is the most sort after career option and has a very high demand. English Literature provides more opportunities such as journalism, B.Ed and UGC NET. The eligibility criteria for this course are having an aggregate of 50% in class XII boards. Most universities hold entrance exam for admission for this course.
BBA: If you have an interest in business management and have relevant entrepreneurship skills, then you can opt for this management degree course. After completion of this course, you could get a job of marketing manager, financial manager, strategic manager, operation manager and human resource manager. Eligibility criteria for this course are having an aggregate of 50 % marks in class XII boards with subjects such as mathematics and English core.
BAF: bachelors in Accounting and Finance (BAF) is a 3-year degree course, which focuses on tax, cost, accounting, audit, business law and economics. Students should have an aggregate of 50% marks in class XII boards to pursue this course.
BBI: BBI stands for Bachelors in banking and Insurance. It is a 3-year degree course, which revolves around financial accounting and management, banking law, business law, corporate law, auditing and cost. Eligibility criteria for this course are having an aggregate of 50 % marks in class XII boards.
